    Nursing programmes are one of the most important activities of Synodical Board Of Health Services. Nursing wing was established by SBHS in 1994 with appointment of a Coordinator to look after the activities related to Nursing Service and Nursing Education under SBHS.  
       
    Objectives of Nursing Programme  
  Provide guidance to Nursing service and Nursing Education in order to improve the standard of care and education of Nurses.  
  Organise in-service programme to update knowledge and skill of Nurses and Nurse teachers.  
  Help Nursing Schools to upgrade ANM programme to GNM programme and GNM programme to BSc.Nursing programme according to need.  
  Provide help to Mission Hospitals in re-opening / setting up of new schools and colleges of Nursing.  
  Help the institutions in procuring library books and Audio Visual Aids for the Nursing schools and colleges.  
  Write and publish books for Nurses as per need.  
  Encourage Nurses to pursue higher studies / specialisation courses.  
  Provide scholarships to deserving candidates for Nursing studies.  
  Counsel Nurses according to need and help in building leadership among them.
